Burial Information

The loss of a loved one can be difficult.  We've collected information that may help ease the difficult tasks that surround the death of a loved one.

We want to honor every person who has chosen Dillingham as their final resting place.  To ensure that your loved one is honored as part of our history, one (1) of two (2) forms must be completed prior to any burial within Dillingham city limits:

  • IF your family member will be buried in a public cemetery, a Burial Permit will need to completed and signed by a City Official. LINK to FORM

  • IF your family member will be buried in a private cemetery (owned by a church) or on private land, a Burial Register form will need to be completed and signed by a City Official. LINK to FORM

A list of cemeteries and churches that are located in Dillingham can be found in our Community Interest section on this website.

In Alaska, it is permissible to bury our loved ones on private lands.  The State of Alaska has some guidelines that should help in finding a final resting place on private land.  Please follow this LINK for additional information from the State of Alaska and burials on private lands.
