Planning

The Planning Department develops and implements the City's current and long range plans and adminsters the land use and platting sections of the Dillingham Municipal Code.  The Planning Director writes and coordinates grant funding for City projects, prepares the City's Capital Improvement Program, administers the 2010 Comprehensive Plan, provides staff support to the Planning Commission, develops and updates the City's maps and Geographic Information Systems, and serves as a resource for all permitting, platting, and land use questions.  

2022 City of Dillingham and Curyung Tribal Council Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (see flyer and final draft in supporting documents for more information)

Over the next several months, the City of Dillingham and Curyung Tribal Council will be working with consultants to assess risks posed by natural disasters and develop strategies to protect life and property in Dillingham from future hazard events.

Hazards addressed in the plan include:

• Climate Change
• Earthquake
• Erosion
• Flooding
• Permafrost Degradation
• Severe Weather
• Wildfire
• Volcano

Green Star for Communities

The Green Star Communities Program supports rural Alaskan villages that want to practice waste reduction, energy conservation and pollution prevention.  Communities that meet the Green Star Community Standards are recognized for their accomplishments.  See below, Supporting Documents section, for success stories for Alaska communities that have participated in the Green Star Program.  There are many advantages to partnering with the Green Star Program.
